The Core Facility Pathology & Tissue Analytics provides comprehensive histopathological and imaging services. The Core combines two service platforms: the Histopathology Core Laboratory and Microscopy Core Laboratory - offering access to state of the art technical and professional services for all aspects of histomorpho­logical and histopathological tissue analysis.

We now seek to appoint a highly qualified and motivated

Your responsibilities Morphological-molecular analysis of tissues in clinical and preclinical settings with special expertise in laboratory animal pathology Histopathological diagnosis and preparing scientific reports of challenging interdisciplinary research projects Establishment, further development and application of new sophisticated methods in tissue-based analysis to provide services to researchers utilizing state-of-the-art histotechnology, advanced micros­copy and digital image analysis Train and supervise researchers/students in research techniques, microscopy (confocal and non-confocal microscope) systems, data analysis software Collaborate with scientists across multiple depart­ments and other core facilities to help develop analysis and visualization tools for biological imaging data

Your qualifications PhD or Master’s degree with 5+ years of post-degree relevant and productive work experience in vete­rinary medicine, biology, medicine or related fields Knowledge in laboratory animal diagnostics with special expertise in working with mouse models Expert skills in histopathology, immunohistochemistry and morphological - molecular analysis of tissues and a passion to develop and implement state of the art tools (e.g. spatial transcriptomics) Hands-on expertise in advanced microscopy and digital image analysis Relevant publication record Competence in constructive communication (German and English) in a top-tier multidisciplinary environ­ment Ability to set goal-oriented priorities, structured work organisation and to work in a team Strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service Prior working experience in a core facility setting is an advantage
